Six (6) Ergoceuticals: Pro-Energy upon Demand!
NO product on today’s glutted array of energy products offers a more creative ingredient list dynamically shown to produce energy upon demand than does Hammer Gel! The inclusion of four amino acids within a patented naturally occurring multi-long-chain carbohydrate in a metabolically-active maltodextrin base creates a “Gel” which is both ergogenic and dynamic throughout the course of exercise. During our own initial field tests, we were more than “surprised” when the initial cycling performances were yielding 40-44% greater distances using Hammer Gel than when not using it in accurately measured time trials.
The four aces of exercise:
- L-Alanine,
- L-Leucine,
- L-Isoleucine,
- L-Valine
Brilliant studies by Felig, Roth, Lemon, Young, Henderson, and Babij in the past 23 years have established that 5 Amino Acids are rapidly depleted during exercise. Early onset fatigue may be delayed by oral ingestion of four of these amino acids. L-Alanine is one of four readily absorbed-muscle assimilated amino acids which aid in the metabolism of glucose and in the synthesis of pantothenic acid(B-5), which is also needed for protein, fat, and carbohydrate metabolism.
Three branched chain amino acids(BCAA), L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine, and L-Valine compose one third of all muscle tissues. L-Leucine has been shown to be rapidly deplete in both aerobic and anaerobic exercise. Young at M.I.T. found that even during an easy 55% VO-2 max stationary bike exercise L-Leucine oxidation increased +240%! L-Leucine lowers elevated blood sugar levels. It must be taken in balanced doses of L-Isoleucine and L-Valine. Similar losses occur in L-Isoleucine and L-Valine but they are very difficult to objectively measure.
We suspect that each is depleted in all exercise activities simply because we can measure the increased activity of their enzyme, BRANCHED CHAIN KETO-ACID DEHYDROGENASE, which controls their degradation. L-Isoleucine is a stabilizer and regulator of blood sugar energy levels. A deficiency of L-Isoleucine will lead to symptoms similar to hypoglycemia. L-Valine has a stimulant effect on the body.
Several authors advise not to take L-Valine by itself if you are a heart patient because of its stimulant properties. A deficiency of L-Valine results in a negative hydrogen balance. All three of the previously mentioned BCAA’s should be taken together for their potentiating action in both muscle energy metabolism, tissue repair, and nitrogen-hydrogen balance.
Studies have confirmed that oral ingestion of these amino acids raises blood levels proportionately, and migrate with ease to working muscles for fuel synthesis, tissue repair and sparing harmful muscle loss.
Energy Smart: The Cognitive Composite for Endurance and Recovery
This Compound of “Super Nutrients” has been shown to lengthen endurance activity while also sustaining exercise which requires either power or strength. Energy Smart(ES) is a patented combination of naturally occurring fruit based mono and disaccharides plus specially developed medium and long chain dextrins derived from grain. When ingested, the human physiology interprets the biochemistry of ES as a complex carbohydrate resulting in gradual-but-welcome increases to serum blood sugar levels.
As an all-natural ingredient, contents of trace minerals and vitamins aid the rapid and complete assimilation of each energy producing nutrient. Why do athletes consistently report improved endurance and faster recovery from intense training sessions? In an independent study, Energy Smart demonstrated a far superior blood glucose response as when compared to the commonly added sugars such as fructose and sucrose (contained in most energy drinks and athletic energy bars). All subjects fasted 12-hours before ingesting either 60 grams of Energy Smart, Fructose, or Sucrose.
Within 25 minutes, Energy Smart and Sucrose spiked significant increases in blood glucose levels. Fructose failed to increase blood glucose levels above fasting baseline during the entire 2-hour test. In addition, Fructose has been shown to raise blood serum cholesterol levels, blood triglycerides, and fatty acid stores within the body. Within 60 minutes after consuming Sucrose, each subject’s blood glucose levels dropped below fasting baseline!
The subjects who used Energy Smart exhibited blood glucose levels which declined gently, but remained well above fasting baseline after one full hour! In fact, 120 minutes passed before those using Energy Smart approached the fasting baseline. During this study, Energy Smart never caused an energy deficit below fasting baseline measurements. The use of fructose or sucrose-based products for energy demands of beyond a one hour event is brought into serious question by this study.
The big max: a Mega Maltodextrin!
The Maltodextrin chosen specially for Hammer Gel contains 1.6% monosaccarides, 5.8% dissaccarides, 7.8% trisaccarides, 6.1% tetrasaccarides, which leaves a “MEGA” 78.7 % pentasaccarides, a 5-sided complex carbohydrate with special properties that lend themselves to MAXimal conversion of energy as a fuel source for muscular movement. This macronutrient comes with a moderately low dextrose-equivalent(D.E.) of 18, which permits soluability of up to 60% dry solids at 20 degrees centigrade. The D.E. of potatoes 60, while sucrose(table sugar) is 100. The lower the D.E. the faster the nutrient will cross the stomach lining, transforming useful fuels to energy production. The ph of 4.0 to 4.7 combined with its’ soluability and low D.E. make it enzyme receptive, absorbable, and potently available for the demands of both endurance and strength events.
Superior synergism: the superior solution!
Most of the ergogenic products imposed upon the pocketbooks of athletes expound their superlatives with little conscience. HAMMER GEL is a combination formula which has been proven to prolong performance, while sparing lean muscle loss. The four Amino Acids proportionately formulated within the patented Energy Smart composite, based in a metabolically-active maltodextrin are the ingredients for a superb performance . “Energy Crisis” need never occupy the athletes vocabulary again, and at a financial investment of 50 cents per serving, the solution is here to carry you from the common and ordinary to the optimal in performance results.
