How did you get into the sport?
My five children are all heavily involved in sport, so i naturally became the dad who coached their teams, working across multiple sports over the years.
Being back in that environment reignited my own passion for running, and I quickly realised I needed to stay fit just to keep up with them. And I loved it!
In 2022, I made a simple commitment to myself: run every day. That commitment has become the foundation of my training, and I’ve maintained it ever since.
Sporting Accomplishments:
My proudest achievement is raising $1,300 for homelessness by running 42.2km every day for 10 consecutive days while balancing work and family life.
2025 was my first full year of racing. I started with a 100km (my 1st ever ultra) that a mate gifted me with only four weeks’ notice, and I finished great and on my feet. From there, I raced every six weeks, progressing from half marathons to marathons and ultra distances, including 50km, 80km and 100km events, consistently placing highly in my age category.
Hardest thing about your sport?
Fueling. Getting it right always determines whether I perform at my best or just crawl over the finish line. Hammer Nutrition will allow me to refine my fueling strategy and help me improve.
What does your regular training week consist of?
I run daily (60–90km per week) and complete four strength sessions. I balance training around family commitments, being a dad and husband, as well as my 50-hour work week. I almost always train while my children are at their sports practice. So, no impact on family life.
My focus is quality over volume, tempo work, threshold sessions, and long runs with Zone 2 development.
How do you stay motivated?
My family. I want my children to see discipline, consistency and resilience through action. Training and racing are about setting an example for them.
Goals (Future Plans)
Continue progressing in distance racing with the aim of being a regular on the podium.
“You are the company you keep.” – Mum.
My wife keeps things simple. Whenever I start doubting myself, she reminds me to toughen up and finish what I started. Be brave, take the hill!
