I was introduced to Perpetuem by a friend who saw the amount of gels and other products I had for a long race. He recommended me Perpetuem, claiming I would only need a bottle with a couple of scoops. I was skeptical and had a race coming up in 1 week time. I didn't have the chance to test the 2hrs + ride in the last week so I ordered a sample and decided to give it a go in the race (a bit risky since they say do not try something new, or practice it before) The race lasted 2hrs and 35 mins, I only took with me 500ml of water mixed with 3 scoops of Perpetuem divided in 250ml reusable flaks and 1x 750ml bottle of plain water and 1 x 750ml of water with electrolytes. I managed to perform really well, never felt hungry, it was nice to my stomach and my energy level was high at all times! As soon as I finished the race I ordered the big canister
I really enjoy the almost neutral lemon / lime flavour. A cold bidon of lemon / lime HEED during a hot day of training or racing is difficult to beat and HEED is as close to perfect as an energy drink can be and with a full-spectrum of electrolytes (calcium, magnesium, manganese and chromium over the typical sodium and potassium). I also like the addition of chromium polynicotinate (niacin-bound chromium) used to boosts chromium’s absorption and it’s reported effects on the effectiveness of insulin to keep your blood sugar at optimal levels and also assist in the metabolism of carbohydrate, fat and protein. No cramps. No stomach issues.
