Sport: Adventure/multisport racing and trail running
Sporting accomplishment: Winning Marysville to Melbourne multisport race and Mainpeak multisport race 2012. This means I held the West Coast and East multisport title. This would have to be one of most memorable moments for me.
How did you get into your sport: Started doing triathlons at the age of 15. I then took a few years off at the age of 20. I returned to triathlons at 24 for a few years and then got sick of riding and running on the rd, so I swapped to Adventure racing. Since that day, I have never looked back 🙂
What is a regular training week:I try to train twice a day. I have very early starts of a morning, as have to juggle training with a full time job and then train again after work. I try to get in 3 swims, 3 paddles, 4 rides and 4 runs a week. Sat and Sun’s are my long days of about 6hrs each day of a good solid block session.
How do you keep motivated: Motivation is easy if you love it and I love it. If I wake up of a morning and am tempted to sleep in I just have to tell myself that if I miss this session there is no making it up and that I will feel great once I have done it and it will all be worth it.
Goals: I would like to get more involved in the trail running scene and do some more ultra-running events and also some more multi day adventure racing events. Most importantly I want to keep training hard and enjoying it and be able to compete at the best level I can.
Best piece of advice I have been given: Dream big. Believe in your dreams and anything is possible.
